fish room air con

What size window units are you using in your fishrooms. My room will be roughly 12x14 and I bought a 6000btu, but now I'm wondering if I should have got a 10,000 btu?

i used a 6000btu on my room and it was not near enough. i still had to keep the door open with fans going to keep it some what cool. i would get the biggest you could afford. you should be able to find them cheap right now seeing how it is cold out side!

my room is 10 x 4 and I have a 5000btu. For me it works fine. Nice and steady 76 doing high 90's in the summer

Why not look at mini split system made LG, Samsung, Bryant/Carrier Etc These start out in 10,000 BTU range and go up to the 24-36 depending on brand. This way you will no take up your window space. You can run them off of a T-stat and are more effecient. HTH Tim
