Greets all!

So far I only have a small pair of Onyx clowns. What other fish should I add? I was thinking maybe a Blue/Green Chromis, Banggai Cardinal and some type of small Angelfish. I dont want any type of Basslets. Any recommendations? Thanky:fish2:

Small angels like Argis would be great as would chalk bass or an orchid dottyback

No chromis, they do poorly of if they cannot school, plus they are active swimmers and 24g is simply to small, they wouldnt do well.

Would a Yellow Clown Goby and a Firefish be ok together? Also, I have eggcrate over the top, will this keep the Firefish from jumping out?

I have 4 chromis in my 65-gallon - down from the original 11 - they do need space, and have similar stories from other local reefers who have tried with small schools - they eventually get down to a school size appropriate for the size tank they are in - in a 24-gallon you would probably only be able to have 2 or 3...

I don't know if anything but the smallest of pygmy angelfish will be OK in a 24-gallon, they need a lot of space to hide and find natural food.

I'd stick with the clowns and get a bubble-tip anemone - The onyx clowns can get pretty large and will definately be pushing the bio-load in that tank as they approach adulthood.

If you want additional fish - some type of sand goby would be appropriate, and maybe a firefish, or something else that stays very small.

Yellow clowns can be aggressive towards some SPS corals (Acroporas especially) Green clown gobies are more "safe" IMO - both will not have any problem co-habitating w/ a firefish of any color

No, I would highly recommend not getting a chromis. I have never known of a single speciem that fared well by himself, they are schooling fish and only show correct behavoir when in a school. A chromis by himself will likely hide and waste away. Chromis should be housed in a tank of at least 75g. There are plenty of other good choices for your nano, firefish, gobies, etc. but not a chromis, he will no fare well.

Thats a Midas Blenny, beautiful fish

Bingo, and yes - they are beautiful.

It spends almost equal time swimming and "perching" on the rocks - incredible personality - but also a jumper - be sure to have at least a 4" rim or a cover on the tank.
