Fish suggestion

Well since the upgrade to the 120g, my wife has been hinting that she would like a pair of schooling fish. Something that is active and vibrant. I would like to surprise her for her B-day with a pair.

Current residents are:

Juvenile Hippo and Sailfin Tangs
Juvenile pygmy angel
2 Onyx Clowns
Six line
Mandarin
Pink Spotted shrimp Goby

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I was thinking of the Bartlett Anthias myself, but am looking for more feedback before I commit to anything.

Thank you,

Todd

hey Todd....

i would agree with a couple Anthias. they were the first fish that popped into my mind when i started to read your thread.

Deep Reef has a few in but not sure which type. very beautiful and vibrant colors. orange and pinkish i think.

I like my school of chromis. I have the green but the blues are nice too. When you have 5 or so the effect is very nice.

I used my wifes words there on the school Dave...:)

I am not opposed to 3 or 4 fish. Does that make a school???? :p

I am open to suggestions on type, number etc. Let's see them fly. Thanks for the sugestions so far.

I have a pair of Golden Head Sleeper Gobies. They always swim and search for food together. Pretty cool fish in my opinion.

You could get a couple thousand sardines like they have at the Monterrey (CA) Aquarium. Very cool.

If you just looking for 2 fishes, Id go for a pair of firefish. If you are thinking more along the lines of a schooling fish, I like anthias, but IME (with chromis), once schooling fish are comfortable with the tank, they start cutting class and hang out in their own areas of the tank. If I am going to have fish scatterd all over the tank and not schooling, Id want something different than 5 chromis. I guess a grouper might act like a truent officer and keep them grouped. Grouper.. Grouped! :p

Thanks for chiming in Rod. She decided she likes the Purple Firefish. She said they were pretty.

Thanks,

Todd
