I have my glass in hand and will be building my tank this coming weekend. I am still a long way from actually adding fish, however I am a little bored at work this morning and figured I would ask you guys for your opinions.

My tank will be bare bottom and I am looking for fish recommendations.

Gasman,I ended up with an ASM G2 that will be my skimmer for the tank. I am going to gate valve mod it and maybe meshmod as well.

any specific types of wrasse you can point me in the direction of?

Very good !
Now as far as wrasses-the sky is the limit. Many people like them and many people dont, I'm one that truly likes them as well as some others in the forum and club.
My 3 favorite wrasses in the world are the hooded(vanatu), the Lineatus, and the Mysteri. I currently have 2 of the 3( they are a lil on the expensive side). This two are high end . As far as any other plenty to choose from, scotts-xmas-solon etc.

Wow there are a lot of nice wrasse's I have never seen before. DO wrasses in general do well with strong chaotic flow in the display?

are there any gobies that can do well with no sand and the same flow?

Wrasses are a colorful addition to any aquarium but keep in mind when choosing them that some wrasses need/like at least 1" of sand. They may also be a little too big for a 23" +/- size tank.
I will stick with very little colorful fish intended for nano style tanks, this include gobies and other small fish.
Here is a link were you can get ideas of small fishes.
