im looking for a wrasse or fish that will do a good job eating brown flatworms and is reef safe. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks guys!:)

well, the clear choice would be a sixline. I think some halichoeres spp will eat them, but Im not sure. also, I'd bet that close cousins of the sixlines like pinstripes and fourlines would be likely to eat them as well.

Our leopard wrasse and to a lesser extent, our green mandy did a pretty fair job at keeping them at bay.

It has been my experience that orange/brown flatworms are due to too many nutrients. Fix the issue and they cycle out.

Most of the Halichoeres species are a good bet, but I would strongly back the suggestion of H. marginatus. Mine is a flatworm destroying machine.

I have tried a few diff fish, mandering, leopard wrasse, melanarus with no luck. The issues I think is there are better things too eat so until you starve them they don't seem to want to eat flatworms. I usually end up with all pods gone and flatworms. i have tried the nutrient export but they are so low on food cahin hard to get rid of them. I have a low nut syst not ULNS still have flatworms (0- N & 0- P).

IME, there's no surefire fish for eating flatworms. I've seen all the fish above (and more) completely ignore them. Get a fish that you like and is appropriate for your size tank. If it helps with the FWs, that's a bonus.

Flatworm Exit works well. I've used it. Amazingly thorough and SPECIFIC results.
