Fish tank at doctor's office ...

This morning I saw something I've never seen before. My family doctor's office has a 55G FO tank with a pair of O. Clowns, Blue Devil damselfish, Tomatoe clown and a Skunk clown. Knowing it's not a good idea to mix clown species, all the fishes in there were peaceful.

What I noticed is the Skunk clown was constantly hanging around near the Tomatoe clown and they're both not showing any signs of aggression at all. The Tomatoe clown is about an inch and half and the Skunk clown is about an inch.

Has anyone seen such behaviors such as this ?

The two O. Clowns have been in the tank about 3-4 months ago along with the blue damselfish and two triggers (no longer in this tank this morning).

I have a pair of pink skunks, mated percs(that lay eggs on a regular basis) a pair of clarkii and a black saddle-back all in my 125. They each have a host and they feed and swimm about the tank with no agression for the others

Alot of people throw juvy clowns in and think they have no problem.
I did this as well.
My clarkis were cool for about a year and a half, and then like overnight they beat all my fish nearly to death.
I had occs and a maroon that got along, like 6 mo., then one day the maroon made mincemeat of them.
The only combo that I've seen/heard that seems to go OK is with pink skunks, as they are shaped and colored different to other clowns.
A HUGE tank can house more than one pair if there is enough seperation.
Of course there are the rare exceptions, but not usually.

The skunk and tomato may very well have paired off...someone a while ago had an ocellaris/tomato pair that was breeding.

Is it usually unheard of diff species to be paired off ? What would the offsprings be if they actually bred together ? This is so new and unusual for me anyways ... LOL !!

Depends a lot on genetics what the offspring would be like...could be that one species will have recessive traits when mixed with the others DNA, stuff like that. Could be a totally different looking fish, or it could just look like one of the parents with slightly different traits that aren't outright visibly noticeable.
