fish trap

Anybody have a fish trapping equipment I could borrow? This damn $15 blenny is nipping the hell out of the $150 anthias.

I think you should pull the anthias and give it to me. LOL Ok seriously try a 2 liter coke bottle with the top cut off and turned inverted into the rest of the bottle. Hope that makes sense! Then put Mr Blennys favorite food into it and youll catch every fish but LOL

Chris, he's pretty smart too and he bites my hand everytime it's in the tank... but he's a beauty though. If I could catch him, he's going to my QT.

That's a great idea Chris.

My buddy let me borrow his trap. It's a specimen container with a lid. The lid has a lead weight on it and is tied up with monofilament line.

I put the food in the trap and wait for the fish to go in.
Took me 1 hour to catch the Lamark Angel a few weeks ago.
It's a pain because you have to wait, but it works. Sometimes they need to get used to the trap for a few days, but eventually the one I want goes in.

Soda bottles have to be placed on the sandbed right? I'm seriously running out of real estate... don't even have a spot to put anything on there anymore.

The worse thing is he sleeps in a hole inside a LR. I'm gonna try the specimen container trick tonight. fishome25, pm sent

LOL my frags don't like to be crowded dude... they need breathing space!
Update on the fish... I got sick of waiting in front of the tank and just took the rock out. I had to move many LR and corals out, but the stubborn guy sat in his hole nicely untill he was out in the air. Vince 1, blenny 0. Now he resides in my QT along with my evil YT who was also banished from the main tank.
