Fish Wish List

Coral Beauty's are usually ok in a reef. However they will nip at soft coral occasionally. I have one in mine and he leaves everything except the pulsing xenia alone, which actually helps keep them under control!

Copperbands are tough fish. Frankly, be prepared to go through a few before finding one that lives. And even then, for very long is questionable. Have you considered zoster or pyramid butterflies?

Twinspot gobies (Signigobius biocellatus) are a PITA to keep. They are VERY difficult to feed prepared foods. If you do happen to get some that eat prepared food, you have to be very dedicated to spot feeding them constantly. They have a dismal success rate.

Yellow tangs are common, but still gorgeous. Don't get sucked into the whole "just because it's less common it's cooler" type of thinking.

IMO/E, I think you could squeeze a Ctenochaetus species and smaller Zebrasoma species in your tank. Especially with your otherwise fairly light bioload. This is all assuming good husbandry and equipment.

So like a kole tang and a yellow or purple tang(not a larger one like a desjardinii). I have not considered the zoster or pyramid. I don't think I've ever seen them in person. The pyramid is pretty nice though. Do you have any good pics of one in a well lit aquarium?

No, sorry, have never kept them...don't find them particularly attractive. Just trying to give you some other ideas. :)

:( I really want a copperband. Anybody have any advice to getting one that will live and keeping it alive?

So this advice is from hearsay, not personal experience. I have heard that the Australian CBB are much more likely to eat prepared foods. However, they are more expensive, and IME, come in quite large, like 5+ inches.

There's also the marginalis copperband...

Yes I read that the ones from Australia are better all around. What about doing all three of those though...yellow(or purple), blue hippo, and copperband? Along with the others...
