Fish with BROOKLYNELLOSIS "CURES" self?

Hello RC members!

A few days ago I started this thread:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2331460
with pictures asking for help with a diagnosis.

I'm pretty sure it's brook that's infested my clowns (if one passes, I'll be sure to look at a gill and tissue sample under a microscope to confirm).

Two days ago my big female looked like she was on the brink, but yesterday and today her color has returned and the large growth on her left gill adjacent to her first bar is slowly shrinking.

Yesterday the little male looked like he was done for: tight skin, erratic swimming, white mucous on his dorsal area. Today he doesn't look 100% back to normal, but he does look better: color returning (still some external, dorsal mucous), eating (not just "toying" with food), and more "normal" swimming.

I know that I still need to treat, but unfortunately my order of formalin and Fish Vet's Revive won't be delivered until Thursday (no local stores carry it).

So my question is has anyone else ever seen a fish fight a brooklynella infestation after it already looks like it's "too late"? Is it just going to come back and hit harder (hopefully not before the meds arrive)?
If this is unheard of for brook, does anyone have any ideas on what it might be?

If it really is brook, the fish has days...probably two or three days. It's a quick killer. Make sure to let the tank go fallow for 11 weeks to eradicate it! (Speaking from experience)... Good luck my friend. You'll need it. Formalin will be your best bet. 🐠🐠

Thank you for your reply, Adam!
That's why I'm confused and was asking for help: brook kills and kills quickly. My little guys seem to be recovering, but all of the symptoms seemed like brook. If they keep getting better I don't think I'll do formalin dips, maybe just treat the tank with Fish Vet's Revive and 25% water changes for a while.
Is there anything like brook (white film, gill growths), but that fish can recover from?
