Name one fish that you think every reefer should have and why. My pick is a tailspot blenny. They're adorable little fish with great personality!

blennies are great, miss my black one though it went carpet surfing, still have a lawnmower blenny, there like puppy dogs of the reef tank.

Despite how much there seen in the hobby I still think True percs Have the most personality and there symbiotic relationship with an anemone is just the picture of a reef

I hope that everyone in the hobby has the opportunity to experience a trigger or a puffer, they are the most amazing fish Ive ever worked with

I with the trigger was more practical because he was my favorite fish

porcupine puffer, it was just like having a dog. If you walk by the tank and it thought it was feeding time he would spit water at you.

I would say black blenny, we had one at work the other day and he was the coolest little guy! if the boss man wouldn't had put him in the display tank I woulda bought him!

I would say a Porcupine puffer also I had one and it would eat out of my hand and spit water at me and when he puffed up he was the size of a basket ball. When he died I weighed him and he weighed 3 pounds:cool:

I'm gonna agree with the percs. They seem to define reef to me. I enjoy walking into Marine Solutions and seeing the Two Clowns they have in the giant rbta.

But my favorite fish is the lawnmower blenny. Mine has such a cool personality. It's eyes seem to follow me as I walk around the tank.

All the tanks I've seen has always had a yellow tang. I myself would not want one, but beings though my wife doesn't consider it a tank without it, I have him on the list. I've always thought them to be more of a bully than they are worth. Personally. The fish I would love to keep but I've never heard of anyone keeping long term is the Morish. I don't know of a hobbyist that doesn't want one. Having made this post already longer than it should be I will say every hobbyist must have clowns in the tank.

Green chromis, can't beat the price, they school, there peacful, there colorful, and there hardy. Not to many fish out there that have all those characteristics in one.

Centropyge interruptus is a rare import for the hobby, and usually commands a price tag of over $500USD. Photos courtesy of David Wilson.

looks like they are very economical too :)

Chad doesn't have an interruptus, he just knows that I want one very badly and so he keeps rubbing in the fact that I can't find one :p

RCT, when they were breeding, had captive raised interruptus for $650. I'm (im)patiently waiting for them to start breeding again so that I can get a healthy, captive raised baby. Hopefully RCT will be back in the swing of things by the end of next year.

That is a beautiful fish even if it does cost half a grand.

Ha, the last time I checked out their site, all it said was something like "check back in a few years".
