What is the proper way to place your sump. I have always had one that was under the stand. Should I elevate it off the floor on a platform?

Any tips that you have learned from?

I've always just had/made a stand for my sumps over the years.

I would raise it a at least a few inches. One day I plan on raising mine with 2x6's so I can run wires or whatever underneath to clean up the clutter. I would have done it already if it wasn't for the fact I have a 10+ year old DSB. Scared to death to disturb the system and crash my tank!

Ive got my sump on the floor. Its a bare concrete basement floor.

Mine is bare concrete as well. But I was thinking a couple inches off the floor would be ideal. Also since there is a slight pitch toward a drain I could make it level.

I think it's best to keep them off the floor. Most concrete floors are uneven and placing a tank on them could put stress on seams long term.

I raised mine off the floor about 2 inches on the old system. Partly to make sure it was level and partly to get it off the cold concrete.

I sat mine on a couple 2x2 pieces of subflooring with a plastic bottom attached to it i got it at home depot

I have mine on a 2x4 stand I built for it. Just to keep it off the floor. Then I used some of that foam with the silver foil on it to help pad it in case of unevenness.
What size sump you have? I have a pedastel from my old system that is of no use to me. Sitting underr my deck. It is partially protected from the weather and painted with a sealant. Think its like 72Lx18W or somewhat near there.

I have my sumps on 3/4" rubber horsemat. I would prefer them up higher because I'm a giraffe, but I wanted to make sure they drained adequately.

I have a Rubbermaid stock tank on foam insulating sheet, on my concrete floor. When I didn't use the foam, the concrete around the sump would feel pretty warm in the Winter (from heat transfer from the sump) so I added the foam for a little energy conservation.

I have mine raised a couple of inches up.
The room was purpose built Welshmen we built our new house so there is a drain in the middle of the room with the floor sloped to drain Any minor water spills
