Joe- I'm really loving the ATI fixture. I like how it only has one cord coming out of the fixture (and then splits to three) to keep the look clean and simple. The reflectors really make the ATI fixture a head and shoulders above the rest. I couldn't be happier and I had 800W of M.H. on my previous tank. I'm a T5er for life I guess you could say.
A 4' fixture easily covers, especially if T5s.. Its only 6" on each side that its missing. The T5s disperse light nicely, theyre not as concentrated as MH. Im going to have to run a 60" over my 72" tank.
Yeah Joe, Clint has always been a halide kinda guy. He was probably skeptical of the T5's because I didn't have the opportunity to do them justice when I owned the system. But Clint has the magic touch and his corals look great no matter what lighting he uses.
Gabe the tort has grown and colored up nicely. Here's the best close up I could get. Looks a little different with polyps eh?
Mike- My previous opinion on T5's had nothing to do with your tank. My thinking was "old school" and I just needed to see for myself. Besides your tank had improved in strides toward the end in regards to color.
This little frag came out of a tank that had awesome color(dudesters office tank) back in December. Two months in my tank the colors had faded and growth was minimal to say the least. The last picture was taken one month after starting Zeovit.
Each and every coral has shown improvment over the last month, even your purple selago that looked sickly. And yes you need to come check it out but bring sunglasses, you'll need em to stare at my new acans! Got these in from Fishnfrags. A++ guy to do business with.
As nice as those acans are, I'm really impressed with the coloration and growth of that watermelon chalice. I'll be cleaning off my shades so I can see'em in person very soon.
