Fishy's back with a rimless A.G.E.

I like it all except for the pipe that runs from the 4-way to the far left of the tank. I wonder if that plumbing will interfere with your ability to empty the skimmer's collection cup? It also places pipe toward the front of the stand, which I prefer to keep clear for work purposes. But if there's no interference, then it'll probably be just fine.

If you can hard plumb the chiller, I'd go for it, although soft worked well for me. Looking good bro!

Marty- This is my second A.G.E tank and I must say the quality of the the tank is second to none. The PVC bottom is so easy to work with and gives a sense of security to me.

Mike- Thanks for chiming in man. You bring up a very good point and I pondered on it myself for a while. But the skimmer is 22" tall and the pipe is @ 28" which means I'll have six inches to work with. Hope you had fun at A.C.L.

Clint, dude do I need to go to your house!!!!!! no really if you need help with anything let me know I live in south austin just moved here last month from san marcos (long story) oh and check out craigslist there is a guy w/200 gal selling all kinds of coral and equip. over in circle c. p.s. neat dimensions on the tank, dudester why give that up?

I gave it up because I'm moving to a new house, and I'm putting in a 450g corner in-wall. I wanted to keep Clint's tank as a frag tank, but that got over-ruled. I didn't want to give it up, but I'm glad it's in Clint's hands. He'll take it places I never could.

Thanks gmatta for the offer of help. I'll keep you in mind if I need any but the hard part is behind me.

The guy selling his 200 on craigslist actually bought some of those corals from me about three years ago.

He said he needs a little break to grow his business. He plans on keeping the tank/equipment and getting back in when the time is ready.

I spent much of the day finishing up the plumbing and replacing the seals, bearing in my closed loop pump and it's safe to say I am worn out!

Mojo suggested that I re-route the far left closed loop so that it goes out the back of the stand. I am glad I took his advice as there is more room underneath and things do not look as cluttered.

I also picked up my Spectrapure five stage RO/DI unit and started making water. Since I do not have my mixing vat yet I have the product water going directly in the tank. Once I have enough water to run my return pump and closed loop I will be adding salt and letting my CL mix it up.

The rock selected was Vanuatu and I had a chance to check it out last week down at Kingfish where it is curing. I hope to have my sand by end of next week. That will allow me to scape the rock and get ready for fish.

Below are progress pics from today, it's getting close to becoming a reef!

 Bravo Clint, you'll probably have LE corals in this thing in about 4 days ;) . I like the way you routed the plumbing much better, that Mojo is a smart dude.

Have you decided on lamps for the Powermodule?

Sorry man it is hard to keep up with all your aliases these days!

I did experience a few problems during leak checks today. During leak inspections I found one major leak just below above the bulk head on the drain side and a smaller leak at one of the short 1" runs for the CL. :( On top of that the four way was not switching back and fourth, it would click and then nothing. What gives??

Did you use teflon tape for the threaded joint on the drain? As for the short 1" pipe leak, could you have glued it incorrectly? I honestly have never experienced a leak at a glued joint. Leaks at threaded joints can usually be fixed by adding a proper amount of teflon tape, or tightening them a little more. I like to add a thin layer of tape at the beginning of the threads, and increase the thickness of the tape toward the base of the threads so that it constantly gets tighter and tighter.

For the clicking of the 4-way, it sounds like the magnets in the housing are improperly aligned. If you call Paul at Oceans Motions he'll walk you through how to correct it. This won't be a big deal at all.

Now what about those lamps?

It is not a leak at the thread but at a glued joint. I think I may have applied too much pressure when I was aligning the drain after the replacement of the seals in the Barracuda. I'll get new parts and start over no big deal but a lesson learned.

Thanks for the heads up on the 4-way.

As far as the bulb selection goes I'm undecided although I really like the looks of Szymon's tank. I'm sure you've already checked it out but just in case here it is.

Last night I finished filling the tank and performing leak test. Tonight I add salt and let the closed loop mix it all up. This weekend I'll add rock and then salt. Here are some pics.
