Fishy's back with a rimless A.G.E.

hey dudester just got done reading about your office tank, nice makes it sound like a puppy lol. fishy pets the second round looks great though my personal like is to have more hight differential in the rockwork, can you please add some info on the substrate looks real nice plus bonus u say it doesnt turn into a tornado. oh and kingfish nice work on duesters tank. havent got a chance to go way north to see the shop yet but will :)

thanks fishy, are you seeding with live sand and if so are you pulling from a friend or purchasing? looked at the link and I might have to go with Tropic looks good ordered tank last week so build thread from me coming soon :) whoo! hoo! still looking for some decent rock. Also my little 75 gal isnt quite as grand but Im a renter, nothing big till I own.

gmatta- I'll get some "seed" sand from Kingfish. And by the way I think they have some Tropic Eden in the large and medium size so you should drop them a line. I'd recommend checking out their shop if you haven't already. They have some very cool display tanks plus you can get everything you need for your reef right there.

Which tank did you choose to go with?

well an A.G.A was what I went with, really want to go with A.G.E but thought I would wait till I can get a 200+ tank for the super tank makers. will be awhile still have like $750k (not a typo) owed to seton along with all the docs and stuff. Car wreck in dec. 2006 where they replaced literally the left half the body. kinda cracks me up (no pun intended) though I loved the six million dollar man when I was a kid. cool thing is in december I am going to New York to see some buddies and I cant wait to see the look on the security guys face, it will be worth the stripdown and 4 hour wait through security :} I guess I do have a wacked sence of humor.

Thanks to Ace (Hobogato) I now have a skin for the stand. It is three panels that lock into place using brackets and magnets. Hard to believe no screws!

Dude, that is cool. I am building my stand right now. Can you show some pics on how it is setup? It would be nice to have ideas on how to do this... exactly what I was looking to do.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt- The stand needs some tweaking so I'll post up close pictures once it's right.

I did manage to clean the glass today and take some better pictures with the lights on. Let me know what you think.

Looking awesome, fishypets! Looks great!

Did you request the overflow to be lower to have a lower waterline for your tank?

Great choice! :) Some other rimless tanks I see are pretty close to the edge not allowing room for wavebox or heavy surface flow. The center overflow is another plus for wavebox users.

Enjoy! :D

Hey nice build, like your aquascaping aswell however is the chiller in it's final resting place if so are you going with black hose so it doesn't grow algae in it?

That's a nice tank there Mike!

tang daddy- That's pretty much it for the chiller. I plan on using black spa-flex for the chiller hose but it hasn't come in yet. Thanks for the heads up.

over about 21" it was to be 3/4 thick not 1/2" thick which is what youve seen, its fine at that thickness...

There are lots of rimless tanks out there over 18", this one is built by AGE, it has a PVC bottom and is nearly bullet proof.

So you got the lights and all, great score, Mike did an awesome job specing this tank.

Enjoy it!

Nice pics Clint. If you look back through the progression of your 'scape, I think you can't help but be happy with the final outcome. The photos really don't depict just how open it is in the center, the many caves that were created, and the variations in height. My only concern is the proximity of the rock to the glass (for cleaning purposes), but we can always squeeze it in a bit if necessary.
