fission nano skimmer

I want to put one on my 12DX but I want to know how well it works first........

are there any other options for skimmin inside the tank. i am looking into a nano and don't really want a HO skimmer.
also,
what about a refug in back of nano? any ideas or pics on how this would work? i read about others doing it, just not sure how.

I siliconed a few pieces of acrylic into my 20L for that reason...

Well this is depressing, I bought one of these just last night. Hopefully I'll have some decent results on my 10 gallon nano. My one concern is that my tank is COVERED in microbubbles since ive hooked it up. I've heard from some threads that this is "normal". Will it harm any of the fish/corals in my tank?

Yeah your corals wont like all those micro bubbles... look up a guy named petermai... I remember back when I thought about getting one that he had talked about how he fixed his to work wonders

Unfortunately there are NO skimmers that work AND will fit in a Nanocube or Aquapod with the lid on.

I also have an aquapod and tryed the fission and after two months of nothing I took it out, but Hagen reps came to my LFS while I was there and were talking to the owner about a new carbon product. They claim that it is supposed to work just like a protein skimmer so I'm going to try it. I looked on their website for it but couldn't find it. They also say that your skimmer will stop producing skimmate after an hour of having the carbon in your aquarium. It sounds a little too good to be true, but, who knows?

this should be stickied at the top of the nano forum to cut down on all the Q's about this product. Or better yet any of our veteran reefers with experience on many types/brands of skimmers want to write a skimmer review for newbies to look at for helpful info. Skimmers are such a vital piece of equipment in a reef tank that a good explanation of setup and comparison of products could only enhance new reefers experiences on this great site!! just my .02

Rio is coming out with a nano skimmer that is a hang on, it will be out in july sometime, they have a add in FAMA aquarium magazine
