Ok, that was freakin funny :D .... The sand sifting star might be a bit hungry looking for food. If your system is only 4 months old it may not supply the necessary food to sustain a sand sifting star. I know people jump to conclusions from what they read on the board but I have read they need a pretty deep sand bed in a good size tank to keep it fed properly. Just "food for thought". Not getting down on ya but just repeating what I have read. I kept one for over a year in a 100 gallon with a 5 inch deep sand bed. That is all I have to offer brotha.

I've had my Sand Sifting star for almost a year. I have a 2" sand bed. He is fat and happy.

He's never left the sand bed though, so yours might be foraging in desperation.
