Before I new about the bad resolts of the fission I bought one for my jbj 12. I messed with it off and on for a mounth trying all kinds of things shortting the tubes from the pump, adding filter pad to the area with the colection cup. still nuthing but wet bubles and ALOT of micro bubles. So I looked at the bottle skimmer some one mad on this site and thought I would give something like that a try. I went down and got the smallest air pump I could find for a 10 gallon and air low ajustment vave. I had a coke and a pepis at the house and desided that the coke bottle had the tapper I was looking for so I cut the very bottom off the coke poke a small hole for the air tubbing then I took the coke bottle and raped the top of it with a alige scrub pad. took the middle pice of the fission and put it on top of the coke bottle holding it in place with a alige scrub the scrub holds it tite. Put it in the tank in the middle chamber messed with the air ajustment and no more micro bubles at all zero. I use to get nuthing but slitely yellow but clear water. I now get what looks like strong tea. every time I empty it, it looks like strong tea. Wile this may not be the real dark black muck some of the better skimmers put out. It is i huge Improvement over what I was getting with out all the bubles. I also took the pump from the skimmer and used it for more water movement in the tank. I am very new to this hobby but Love it so fore. I know my spells sucks thanks.
