Managed to get a picture of my Black Sailfin Goby, Flabelligobius sp , together with my Mandarin...Gives you an idea of the size of this rather spectacular fish....

Yup....I "planted" a randalli pistol just before introducing it to the tank. Unfortunately they didn't connect...and now I can't find where the pistol went! Oh, well.....

Peter, any idea if there are any sex differences in this species?

Nope - no idea. I have not been lucky to see a live Flabelligobius
yet. :( Be sure that the first few I will see will move in one of my tanks :D

Peter...so far they seem to be good fish for a quite nano. Easy to feed, bold and pretty showy:thumbsup:

Did you get the Cocos?
I heard CF wanted to import some to S'pore did they end up getting them?
Can you please PM me the address and tel of the dude in BKK, Im there soon.;)

Do you know that they seem the hang out with pistol shripms? Have you tried it?

Hi Peter,

Thanks to MB, I finally got my paws on this beauty, and I managed to get mine to pair with a resident A. randalli.

Hope MB don't mind me barging in :D

No problem, bro....need to share those nice pics!:D

Vili: No, I didn't get those joculators...too rich for me! CF did get some in but they were shipped out quite quickly - didn't even get to see them. Would have been a good price too! About the same or a little less than the interruptas.

This is one cool goby, I hope with the info provided by MB, I'll be able to get a couple.

Li, Cocos should be less than Interruptus these days.

I got a baby one and I feed him 4-5 times a day and soon I'll introduce him to the one I have for few years, BUT they'll have a transperent wall so the former one will not be able to munch the new guy till a couple of month will pass and I'll release him.

So Rumor you can confirm that this goby is a partner goby? It was unclear to me.

I have a lonesoem randalli and just wait for the best goby to fit ...

Peter,

As far as I can tell, it seems to form a symbiotic relationship with the A. randalli as I rarely see it without a partner shrimp.

Thing is, I have a pair of A. randalli and another lone one running around in their network of tunnels in my nano. The pair of shrimps sticks to a Yashia Goby while the loner goes to the Flabelligobius sp.

Question Marinebetta and myself is wondering, is if they somehow swap shrimps? Its hard to tell who is with whom now. Any idea?

With your reputation of keeping rare fishes, this is going to be tough. The Flabelligobius sp is a good choice though :)

I think you will only have clearity if you separate the yasha + shrimp(s) from the Flabelligobius+shrimp.

Thats the fun of keeping rare fish, you can only learn of it! And the web is the perfect medium to transport your ovservations, remarks and assumptions. Of course only when several people make the same observation we have a hint.

I keep an open eye for these little treasures!

Hi!

if all keep their fingers crossed I might get a couple (!!) of Flabelligobius next saturday - finally!!!

What about an update form MB and Rumor (btw, please send me the link the Singapure forum again - PC crash and all gone :( ) ?

I am specially interested to find a final answer o the question if they are partner gobies or not?

Anyone tried to keep more then one?

Any other advise, recommendation ect I could use before I enter them in one of my tanks?

 Good for you, Peter!

Unfortunately, mine decided to carpet surf:(

They should be shrimp gobies as Rumor's is staying with the randalli all the time. Tried to pair mine up but it could not contact the shrimp I "planted".

I think you will like them....bold fish and no one really bothers them nor do they bother others. Kind of like mandarins but not as active.

Send pics!:)

Li my friend,
Sorry to hear about your loss.
I'll keep ya updated if the BKK dude has any new specimens.
Our friend wont bring those for sure as fish this size are a big no no in HK.

Hi LI,

they jump ???? Would have never expected that, guess something spooked him. Sorry to here that :(

I prepared one of my tanks yesterday, "asked" the randalli to move into this tank where I have choosen his new home ;) - easy to see, not to fare away from the front window, not to much light as a big Gorgonia and a big soft coral are shading the area a bit. So I should be able to get nice pictures.

Tank mates are, 6 Apogon magriphora, 2 Tryssogobius colini
, 6 Trimma striata (only added Saturday) and 5 Coryphopterus personatus
