Flagfin beat popeye all by himself!

My flagfin angel who had a serious case of popeye for about two weeks has finally regained a normal looking eye. I did no intervention on my part, just kept him well fed, and after reading posts from folks on here telling me he was done for unless i used antibiotics or actually stuck a syringe in his eye and sucked out the fluids, i realized i need to quite getting all worked up so easy and let these fish work things out on their own while i keep up a nice living enviroment for them!

That's wonderful news! I remember your post about this guy and had my fingers crossed. We have a scorpionfish at work that still has a huge bubble in his eye, it's awful. I asked about treatment yesterday when I was there and the only answer I got was that they were planning to use a teeny syringe to remove the pressure and then treat the main tank with erythromycin. It's a 110g FOWLR, seems to me it would be wiser to remove the fish and put him in a hospital tank but they seem determined to kill off about 100lbs of nice LR

Thanks! Yeah I think its really easy to get overwhelmed in this hobby very quickly. You gotta think that if you keep your tank pretty darn clean, healthy, and stress free then the fish have a better chance of beating these things on their own just like they might in the open sea only with unlimited food and less stress living in your tank. I had a outbreak of ich and that popeye in my tank and figured out that the main stress problem in my tank was too much flow with a Tunze PH. After I removed that everything chilled out and is back to normal.
