Two of the fish in my 200 gallons FOWLR have been showing symptoms of internal parasites for over a month. Bicolor angel is having faded color and pooping very light colored fluffy poop and powder brown tang scratches his sides occasionally. Appetite of all fish is fine.

Recently dosed with 2 rounds of prazi pro 7 days apart without much effect.

Planning to dose my DT with flagyl/ metronidazole, since it only works against anaerobic bacteria, so i believe it will not adversely affect aerobic bacteria.
Plz advise.

I would not dose metro directly into a reef tank, as it will destroy the biofilter in your live rock and likely crash your nitrogen cycle. You might consider adding it to food using a binding agent (like Seachem Focus) instead.

Seachem metroplex says it won't disturb the biofilter. I haven't had a problem with it in my QT but most of it is mixed with food.

Thanks for the responses. I emailed Seachem Support regarding the matter and their response is as follows,

"Thank you for your email. You can certainly treat a FOWLR tank with Metronidazole, as it will have minimal impact on bacteria colonies. We recommend removing all chemical filtration and carefully reviewing the instructions before dosing.
