Flame Angel & Rusty Angel

No definite answer. They "might". If you have plenty of live rock for shelter/hiding spots, that can help. Adding them at the same time also improves your chances. If you already have one, it's a gamble.

Flame angels can be quite beligerent. About a decade ago I had one in a 180 along with a yellow tang, a clarkii clown, and a few small gobies etc. The flame would constantly "pick a fight" with the clarkii - the latter was happy to live in peace, hosting in a sacrophyton coral.... but every time the flame would swim past it would make a move. As such, it was not "serious" (so I thought) ..... no real damage was done..... until the clarkii sustainaed an injured eye, which ultimately led to its death.

I have had a couple of other flame angels since then, which have been far more mellow. But I would be very cautious mixing a flame with a rusty which is very similar is size, colour, and shape.

I agree. Flame Angels are kinda nasty, and, if you dont have enough rock work they can be even more belligerent. I have a multi colored and atlantic blue dwarfs in a 125 with lots of pukani and they get along great. Might I suggest a potters? Gives u the color, activity and you can add another dwarf in with it. Say maybe a african flame backe eibls or multibarred? Just a thought.

My Coral Beauty isn't too bad, but they get into scuffles with the larger clownfish on occasion. The coral doesn't mess with the smaller fish though.
