I tried one a while back. He was ok for about a month then he started nipping at my zoos and my open brain corals. So he had to go back. I then tried a Coral Beauty angel and he did the same thing. Some people have good luck with them in their reefs, I just wasn't one of them.
Flame angels are mostly reef safe. Once in awhile someone will run into one that will nip at their corals but most of the time people don't have a problem with them in their reefs. It's just a chance you've gotta take.
