Flame Angels

Hello, I am new to the hobby. Are flame angels reef safe? Thanks

I am fairly new too.
I had one before I moved. He left them all alone.
If you use the search engine you should find what you are looking for.
You will find that they are hit or miss.
Keep him well fed.

IMO well fed is a myth. I feed my tank 3 times a day and added a flame angel and about 3 days into the system he nipped at all kinds of SPS.

IMO they nip out of curiosity not hunger.

My first I had for ten years lost him because of stupidity and he was an angel. I just recently added his replacement and he has been perfect so far. I had him in a QT tank before adding him to my display, because there was nothing in the QT tanks to nibble on he learned to eat from me. In other words he got to lazy to graze when all he has to do is wait for feeding time.

Mine Pics at my sps. I knew it was a risk when I got him but I didn't have very many sps so I went for it. I have heard others say that they can develope a taste for LPS as well. If you have a ton of really nice sps corals I wouldn't risk it, however if you have mostly Softies like me it might be worth the risk.
