Flame Hawk feeding

I added a Flame Hawk and a Hippo tang a couple of days ago and the tang is doing fine. Eating really well and enjoying his new home. How ever i'm not sure if the FH is eating or not. I have been feeding Brine shrimp with garlic and the tang and my 2 clowns just enhale them so not sure if any getting to the FH. He hops around the rock and seem interested as he comes forward and watches but it all tends to get eaten before he can make a move. Any suggestions??

Try using a turkey baster to squirt some food down to him. That should do the trick. Once he realizes how good the brine tastes, the hawk should be more willing to join the frenzy.

Flames will eat just about anything but prefer larger prey.

Do a snail count as Flames are notorious for knocking them off the glass and ripping them from their shell.

Thanks. I he must be pretty hunger as he fianlly came out after i put some Formula One pellets in the tank that sank to the bottom. Jumped down to the sand to get it, so hunger must have finally forced himout. Now he is just sitting out in the sand, must be assuming more is coming...
