Flame Hawkfish & Six Line Wrasse not getting along. Thoughts

Today I purchased a Six Line Wrasse from the LFS. After acclimating the six line and adding him to the tank my flame hawk fish and coral beauty have been chasing him around. Should I be concerned? Are they just being territorial? Should this pass over time? The flame hawk fish and coral beauty are about 3 inches in length and the new six line is about 2 inches. Thanks for your suggestions.

I'd give it some time and observe the behavior. IME, most established fish frown on newcomers and will exhibit some pushiness at first. I think you'll see it subside in a day or two.

I just added a sixline to my tank as well (38g) and him and my false percula aren't getting along. It's been about six days now, and the posturing has gotten worse. The sixline does flips and hangs near one rock, while the clown just comes down in his territory and hangs out to annoy him. I'm hoping this will pass just like your situation.

Tom,
Having the clown as the aggressor is preferable to having the sixline be the boss. Sixlines can be terrors and can do some real damage to other fish. If the sixline is not making moves on anyone, consider yourself lucky.

Make sure your tank is covered...I had a Sixline for a short time that was being harassed by my Hawkfish and Flame Angel, he finally jumped to his death

BTTRFLYGRL- Sorry to hear about your loss. yes the tank is covered.

Hopefully like Jerry W said it will subside in a few days.

Anyone else have any experience with this behavior.

Omg I now this thread is old, but today I witnessed my flame hawkfish bite a chunk of the six line wrasse's gut. I didn't see that coming. After five minutes the wrass layed on the sand so I put him in my rose bubble Anenome.
