I have just bought a flame scallop and am wondering about the species. if anyone has any experience that they would like to share, i would appreciate it. I am just wondering what parameters these scallops like. any specifics or personal happenings would be great.

Take this one as a lesson. Always, always, always, ALWAYS research an animal's care requirements BEFORE buying them because they look cool or whatever.

If possible return it to the store. They have one of the worst survival rates of inverts commonly offered for sale. Most never last 6 months. They have short life spans and we are almost never able to give the amount and type of food they require.

Peabody is absolutely correct. Take it back to the place that sold it to you and trade it in on something that can actually survive for longer than 6 months.

Take it back. After a few months and up to six, it will die. Trade it in on something that will last. Sorry but they do not thrive in captivity. I have never seen one last more than about 6 months. If yours does, keep us posted with everthing you are doing, I would love to have a few of these but never success.
