Flametail Blenny

I picked up this wee guy from my lfs at the weekend cause I absolutely love blennies and hadn't seen one like this before.

My lfs advised that it was a tank bred flametail blenny but that they didn't have any other info from the supplier. Indeed they thought it may be a cross breed. I haven't been able to find out much on the net except one mention here which doesn't really supply a lot of info that isn't generic to all blennies.

Does anyone else have one of these fish and if so, anything in particular I should know so that I can give him a long and happy life.

Many thanks

You have Enchelyurus flavipes. Interesting blenny species that readily eats most prepared foods, as well as rasp on rock surfaces for algae like other family members. It is also commonly misidentified as Ecsenius namiyei, but careful observation will reveal differences in the head and mouth structure.
