Flared gills

I brought a pair of sebae clownfish in December and they gave my whole tank ich.. Right now I'm in process of doing tank transfer method... but one other thing I noticed is that one of the clowns's gills are very flared at all times. His breathing is normal and he eats very aggressively. It was that way when I got it. I didn't think much of it but could this be some other sickness, parasite or sometihng? Whats that thing about gill flukes?

I read that flared gills could just be a genetic imperfection.

All sorts of possibilities - Ich in the gills, gill flukes, infection, physical damage, or as you pointed out, even genetic imperfection.

I would treat both clowns with Prazipro when you are done with TT. Two rounds, 5-7 days apart, 20-25% WC before the second round. Or if you aren't using ammonia reducers, you can even administer Prazi during TT. Just do it at the onset of, say, transfers 2 & 4 (or 3 & 5).

So two rounds 5-7 days apart? Why wait 5-7 days and not do it continuous?

Also, I am using an ammonia reducer (amquel+)... I read these are okay with prazipro but not much documentation on it..

What are the downsides of prazipro?

Because Prazi only kill flukes, not any eggs they might leave behind. First round kills the worms; second round gets the "next generation" before they can lay eggs of their own. The window for this is usually 5-7 days after you've done the first treatment. This 5-7 day window is the "norm" for most species of flukes but by no means guaranteed, so sometimes a third or even fourth round may be required.

I've read mixed anecdotal accounts on that. Some say it's fine, some claim mixing the two killed all their fish. I've never personally had a problem mixing the two, but it has been on very rare occasions I've had to do so.

Mostly appetite suppression - but not as bad or prolonged as copper. Also, some people report wrasses reacting badly to it.

IME wrasses only have a negative reaction if you dose higher than the recommended 2.5mg/l. If you use the recommended dosage, they don't even notice.
