Flasher Wrasse: Tank Size Advice

I'm looking for some advice on the optimal tank size for flasher wrasses. I feel quite confused between the threads I've read across the forum, mainly because some people say that they're suitable for 30-gallon tanks (I've read it in Scott Michael's book "Wrasses and Parrotfishes as well) while others say you need a tank much, much bigger for their life style requirements.

What I'm trying to ask is what people's experiences and advice would be on the matter. I've never had a flasher wrasse, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon (since I don't have a tank), but I'm trying to do my homework and get the facts right.

Having had many, I would recommend 50 gallons for one, a bit more for two or more. Scott Michaels recommendations are a bit out of date.

I have a Yellow Fin who is quite content in my 56. Always flashing and darting in and out of the rock work. He rules the tank.

The tank dimensions are more important than the volume of the tank for flashers, IMO. I wouldn't put one in a tank less than 3 feet in length. They need that lateral swimming space to do their thing.

I apologize, evolved. I meant to ask about that, too. I will keep that in mind whatever tank I end up getting. It seems tank dimensions are important for many active swimmers.

I'm trying to make better decisions for my future tank, which is why I'm asking for expert opinions. I don't want to make more mistakes or have a fish that feels cramped in a too-small tank. And I do like wrasses...surprised, anyone?
