i have always been quite partal to the red sea eight line flasher wrasse but they are quite expensive and hard to come by . Steve had a great suggestion as the McCoskers are rather stunning and easily obtained .
my god. brad that thing is so money...i had the same delema as the OP and also settled on a mccoskers wrasse, but now im torn once again. are those females you have next to the male?
I don't know if you've ever had flashers before, but the McCosker's run the length of the tank when flashing (and also skim the top). I had a male & 2 females in a 38 gallon (36" long) tank back in '02-03 and it didn't seem to have enough room to run. It always had to stop short just as it got going. Just something to consider.
my up and comming tank that will house which ever wrasse will be a 75g. do you think that will be ok for either one? not tryin to hijack but i think the answer should do me and the op some good
You will be fine with the 75g. I have 6 Mckoskers in mine with the attenuatus.
I bought a female octotaenia last week. but she didn't make it thru shipping. Hopefully I will be getting another one soon.
