Flat worms

Keep in mind for every "few" you see, there are a hundred more you don't see. I've dipped leathers in fresh water with success. With patience, they go away on their own. It will take awhile though.

flatworm exit worked great for my when i was a newbie in saltwater, bought a bunch of things from the LFS without quarintine..............well lesson learned and i lost many sps because of it but flatworm exit killed the parasites and took care of the issue

I have a fishless frag tank that's infested with flatworms. And I've used Flatworm Exit on this tank numerous times. It does knock them back, but it never completely eradicates them. The problem is that while Flatworm Exit does kill the worms, it doesn't kill the eggs they leave behind. Thus, a second generation. I've even tried treating again 5, 6 and 7 days later in hopes of getting them before they can lay more eggs. Never works. Maybe someone can chime in regarding the "incubation period" for flatworm eggs. :headwally:

yeah I never really got rid of them with flatworm exit. You can get an idea if your over feeding by how quickly they multiply. I'd get a wrasse to help keep em down

That's interesting. It's been a few years since I've used it to treat a full tank, but when I did, I treated the tanks twice (about 2 days apart), and haven't seen a FW since.

I treated twice this week. I probably killed most but I still see a few in the lower areas of the tank. I will prob get a wrasse to keep numbers down from this point. I dont think you can ever truely be rid of them.

Careful with Flatworm Exit ... if you kill too many flatworms at once it can cause your tank to crash. Wrasses are awesome!

Thanks guys. I bought a canary wrasse but I had too many flatworms and had to treat it with FWE. It worked great. I treated again 4 days later even though I didnt see any and sure enough, more came out. I hope the two treatments did the trick and that the wrasse will handle any more that might have made it.
