I know that this product is widely used and has been extensively reviewed, but I thought I would add my experiences and see if the way I administered it was consistent with it's typical usage. I did not siphon out flatworms before hand because I could only see about eight of them (this was more of a nip-it-in-the-bud administration) and I wanted to be able to see when they died.
I have a 90 gallon tank with a 29 sump and used 90 drops (slightly over what is recommended). Flatworms died within minutes. Also, my brown powder tang became immediately stressed and his colors washed out. A few brittle worms also fell as casualties and my orange torch retracted completely. All other corals, clams, fish, and inverts seemed fine. I kicked in fresh GAC after about 10 minutes because the flatworms I had been watching were dead and I didn't want to further stress the tank. I then changed 15 gallons water that I had at the ready.
Orange torch is slowly coming back out and brown powder tang is slowly coloring back up (both still look a little [profanity], though). It's completely possible that I had way more flatworms than I knew, but is this sort of stress response typical of what others have seen? And should I be prepared to change more water?
Thanks,
Andy
