Flatworm removal

Well my first and hopefully last bout of flatworms is here. ANy of the pros know the quickest, easiest and least risky treatment for these? There are on some mille I found. I do have a green slimer starting to bleach from the base up just as the mille is and another acro I have no ID on. I can only assume these other pieces are infected with FW as well. I saw the little booger tonight while feeding the tank.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Todd

Yeah this blows big time. That's what I get for putting corals in my tank that looked beyond nasty and half dead. I thought I was doing a good thing for my old man by trying to bring them back. Looks like I did harm to my own tank instead.

These are the acro eating flatworms not the red ones. Not sure if there is a wrasse that eats this type or not.

Yes there is, PSEUDOCHEILINUS family like 6-line wrasse, WETMORELLA, POSSUM WRASSES. Heres my observation everytime I got a,shipment of acros. I inspect all of them the one suspect that has this boogers on them I would put them in one of my cubicles w/ this fish in it ,you could realy see he go around in circles and strikes if he sees one in the open. Its just too hard for him to get the ones in the inner branches, but this fish is patient and wait, he would swim around the tank and always go back at the same acros. that he knows that are infected. Wrasses are a must for every reef tanks IME. PEACE

I agree with menard I had some liverock that was curing for a while and I notice after a two months I had a crap load of flatworms in the vat. I put a six line in the vat in a few days I could not even find one. Its a must have like menard said. I will never do a reef tank without a wrasse.

Halichoeres melanurus this wrasse does a great job also it eats fireworms, bad pyaramidal snails, flatworms, and many types of fanworms. But if you have ornamental shrimps or worms consider them lunch. It is not very expensive and this one gets up to 5" long.
