Flatworm?

So I received some free chaeto and put it in my sump about a week ago. Look at my sump last night and this is what I see. They are all over my sump. What is the cure? Flatworm exit?

Yep.. flat worms... You can just siphon them out of you want..
I'd do that before attempting anything drastic..

I don't believe those are the annoying/harmful kind..

Ok. I was thinking that where I am still up in the air of livestock that a wrasse might be a good pick both visually and now as a predator of flatworm.

yes a wrasse can go after them too..
Their population can come and go.. I've had THOUSANDS of them and then next month I don't see any..
I've had tanks where I've used flatworm exit on too (its not an overnight thing though... it can take some time after the initial dose for them to finally disappear.. some will die quickly but others can hold on for quite a while)..
flatworm exit also killed some of my "weaker/smaller" snails too.. so be careful with the dose if you go that way..

siphoning with a small airline works excellent but is kind of tedious work..

I used a melanurus wrasse to rid my tank.

But when I first noticed them, I waited and waited not knowing(when I first started in the hobby), they multiplied to plague proportions! Im taking thousands and thousands over the course of a few months. My rocks looked like they were crawling lol.

With just a few in there, it may be cheap to use flatworm exit. Or if you want another fish then try a wrasse. Stay away from sixlines, they can be mean IMO.

Siphoning can work but will be labor/time intensive to say the least. I had very poor results with FWE, even at almost double strength. WHat did the trick for me was a pair of Blue Star Leopard Wrasses. Not only are the visually stunning, they are quite peaceful, and they spend their days hunting amongst the rocks for any and all little pests, with FW's on their short list of favorite foods. It was very cool to watch one zero in on a FW crawling across my Elegance coral and then carefully pluck it right off without bothering the coral in any way.

Bill, I finally found a pair and picked up 2 beautiful Hawaiian Potters Wrasses.
Thanks for the tip a while back, they're decimating the Planaria I've been dealing with forever. One's even changing Male already!

So I decided to go out and take the risk of using Flatworm exit. Since I had not seen any flatworms in my display I decided to disconnect my sump and main before I ran the FWE through and just ran my return straight back int my sump. So as I am sure some of you have seen on Youtube these little buggers hated the FWE. To my surprise there were not a lot more than I could see on my sump walls( at least not to the naked eye). I followed the directions and dd a large water change to my sump afterwards to get rid of any toxins. Once that was done I proceeded to reconnect everything and then dose my display as a preventative measure. I am happy to report no signs of flatworms any where and all my livestock and corals were not harmed. After asking around it appears my LFS has flatworms in one of their tanks and I had purchased some snails and hermits that came from that tank. I am not sure if they were aware at the time they sold me the CUC but they know now and are going to dose their tanks with FWE. Thanks everyone for the help!

So, I was away for a week and came home to this....thinking melanurus wrasse or flatworm eXit or both! I already have a young pink margin wrasse and am wondering if I may have problems with adding another.

FWIW.. Flat Worm Exit worked fairly well when I tried it at a dosage just slightly higher than recommended but it also killed all my Cerith snails in the process.. No other snails or crabs or anything else was effected..
