Flatworms

Hey all!
My 55 gallon tank is 6 months old. I have 2 damsel fish and a couple corals--nothing big.
Recently, I starting noticing a few rust colored specks on my glass and after some research, found them to be the dreaded flatworm!

From what I understand, these thrive on high nutrient tank waters.

My parameters are all in check--or so says the tests.

PO, nitrate, nitrite, all measure at zero. I feed the tank a pinch of food every other day. Zoas and mushrooms seem fine as do the fish and snails...

Where do these flatworms come from? I haven't added anything new to the tanks in months. Suddenly, they appear?

Besides Flatworm Exit, is there anything I can do to get rid of them before they cause a real problem?

Yes, a sixline should eat them. But they get pretty agressive toward anything you add aftereward. Then so might your damsels.

Sixlines, like most natural methods of pest removal, can be hit or miss. IME, flatworms are a slight pain, but overall pretty easy to get rid of. There are far worse, and far more annoying pests to deal with.

If it were me, I'd just go with Flatworm Exit. Perfectly reef safe, and in my case completely eliminated the flatworms.
