Flesh eating disorder.... need advice!!!

I have a blue hippo that developed a white parasitic looking strand that was hanging off of him then suddenly a wound appeared a couple of days later. Now it is getting larger and affecting all the other fishes. Would any one know what it could possbily be and how to treat it ????

Picture would be good here.

Sounds like it is contagious, if spreading to other fish, so likely some type of parasite...otherwise if something else, a picture would be helpful.

It is actually too difficult to get a picture of him. It's just like a red beefy sore.

im not sure what it could be but i do know he should be in a hospital tank until u can find an answer
