Flex Seal Tape Patches (as seen on TV!)

I just was recently thinking about this actually. My dad said he used it recently and it truly works (Wasn't a fish tank application).

It works...
That kind of stuff has been around for years.. Just now "better marketed" towards big "oops" moments..

I wouldn't trust it long enough to put it on a cracked tank. For plumbing leaks? Sure, as a temporary fix, but it's probably just as quick to grab the PVC cement and a couple spare fittings, and way more permanent.

Yeah, but lets say I have a 180g tank that starts to leak in the middle of a corner seal. If this can hold for a day, or ywo or even 4 weeks while a new tank is being delivered! It beats the heck out of off loading everything into smaller tanks and buckets for a few weeks which is what I had to do. But the my leak was the bottom seal right smack in the middle of the back where I couldn't reach it anyway... Murphy's Law.

Would like to hear from someone who has actually done it.

Used it on an a 450g acrylic tank that the side seam was splitting...worked perfect till bottom seam let go... I now have a couple of big rolls in case of emergency

This stuff is just rubberized roof flashing. I have been using this stuff for a very long time behind and under step flashing.

The stuff is super strong. The issue would be chemicals in the water, thou i think in a very large tank it will give you enough time to get everything out and drain the tank properly..
