I just ordered 200 bucks worth of plumbing along with 20 feet of flexible PVC for my 110 that Im setting up . Anyone have any tips on gluing this stuff? Is the primer needed? Whats the best way to cut it also? thanks

Pvc cutters work best. Leave the primer on until you can scratch the pvc with your fingernail(about 20sec). Push in 1/4-1/2 turn.

the cutter do work the best, but i use a hacksaw then a utility knife to clean the end. yes the primer is needed but you don't have to wait for it to dry. make sure the entire surface being glues is covered in glue (both sides). with the flex you shouldn't turn in after joining, just hold it together.

I recommend the flexible glue, not the regular stuff you can find most everywhere. I used primer on some but had better luck just using the cleaner on it.
The cutters are pretty nice and can be bought fairly cheap considering the money in all the fittings and such. JMHO

Regular glue works fine, you just have to hold flex together longer than regular PVC rigid pipe. Prevent it backing out this way. Hold it together as long as 1-2 minutes and make sure you have the flex as deep as it will go or you will not get a good bond.

We had a discussion about the twist thing at school, Oatey says to do it many others dont. The problem I find is if you have a small burr on your pipe or fitting, it will wipe off the glue as you insert it. That is why I believe is common practice to twist 1/4 turn while fitting together.

Oatey heavy duty pvc glue works well on spaflex. White and green label.
