Flippers canopy build

Flippers4pups

Home made abyss
I've been asked about my canopy build, so with that said.....

This is canopy sits on a standard 6ft 125 gallon Marineland rr tank.

I wanted this canopy to not be too heavy, so I used 1" lumber for a frame.
Using wood screws and wood glue.

The notch in the back at the bottom is for my returns to come through.

Next step was to skin the frame with 1/4 plywood using wood glue and trim nails.

Next the trim work.

Next, using wood filler on seems and nail holes. Then sand all of it with 600 grit sand paper.

Then paint using rustolem enamel spray paint. White semi gloss in side and black semi gloss outside.

Next, mount doors with hinges and door handles. Then I realized I need to have access to my light fixture ......

I cut an access and made panels on each side to match the doors.

Excellent write up & thank you for responding to my request. I'll be modeling my build off yours since it is simple, easy, and looks great!

That's an awesome canopy....so nice in fact that I would like to build it.

Do you happen to have the build plans / cut list?

I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks,
t.
