Your opinion please on how efficient this high flow sump is functioning.
From left to right ,the sump is configured ref/return/skimmer.
Refugium, Bare with chaeto only, water from tank passes thru a sock
Middle section, returns >12,000gph
Skimmer section fed with raw water
I'm counting on high flow to suspend organics to makeup for not running all the water thru the skimmer section 1st. This configuration is the easiest way to drain the two corner overflows. Installing a drain mainfold so all water passes thru the skimmer section 1st would complicate maintaining higher water levels in the ref.
Am I hurting the skimmer's efficiency to the point where making these changes are needed? I have a good idea how I will do this and prepared to do so.If my question is worn out please disregard. Best Regards, Brian
