Float Valve ??

I just set up my ro/di unit and the float valve has a metal screw and wing nut. The water comes out of the float valve and travels over the metal screw and nut. Over time will this be contaminating my filtered water going into my storage container? Thanks Chris

if that screw is stainless, then no, it should be ok. I have a flowt with metal in my auto top off and I have no fear init.

Plus remember this is Ro/DI water and not salt or tap so it is not going to have the contaminates that excell problems like this. As long as it is a good quality I wouldnt worry about it but at the same time you could prob find a nylon setup at home depot pretty cheap.

wolf said just what I was thinking. If you are worried about it find a nylon replacement. Once and awhile test it out with a TDS meter. Where did u get the float valve?

btw.. I am going to be starting a club petition to make pickupman change his avatar. That darn thing looks too real. ;)

I don't think you have to worry about that float valve. I got one too, but haven't hooked it up yet. I've been using this system for about 4 months now without any issues except the DI part that I'm worry about. We'll see as time passes to see if it poses any potential issue.....
