Flocculation kills?

Hi,
When concentrating microalgae, does using a flocculation method kill/harm the cells or not?

What sort of agent are you thinking of using?

I can tell that centrifuge spins do a number on non-diatom phytoplanktons. Upwards of 50% are shredded. Diatoms fare a bit better, most likely due to the silica frustule.

I haven't considered any yet, is there a harmless one you can recommend?

ok, i narrowed it down to this, because I was able to find this at a reasonable price,
can anyone tell me if this would work?
