Ted, you may be able to come up with an answer to this, as you're kind of in a similar situation..
I'm noticing a slight settling under my tank.. I called the company that built our house and they assured me that the floor can handle the load of the tank, so I'm not sure if it's the floor or the material they put down under our wood floor. I can tell you, it's settling..
My solution is to buy a couple of railroad ties about 6' long, and some 4x6 PT lumber and 4 floor jacks.. Place ties under the tank, place jacks on the ties, 4x6's on jacks, and jack them up until they raise the are about 1/16" to 1/8".. I'm thinking that should be plenty to ensure that the tank will cease settling and my floor will stop buckling at some of the seams..
Any advise? Pitfalls, problems? I don't want to do all of this and end up no better then before..
