Florida Mushroom?

at RAP i bought, umm a Florida Mushroom i assume...well thats what the guy called it... the mushroom was not attached and was on the lower level of the display tank in the front with a few more mushrooms...i payed $20 for this "Florida Mushroom" that has pretty nice color, orange and pink... any ways... since the mushroom was not attached and only had a few small stones on the underside of the body the guy told me to super glue the mushroom to a rock... since there is not much room to place the super glue without applying it DIRECTLY to the mushroom itself....im not too sure if that is a good idea, as im sure that super glue can be toxic. any ideas on how i can get this guy to attach? Is the direct contact of super glue not a good idea or will the little bugga be ok?

i bought this mushroom from the booth directly next to the Coral Farmers booth on the right. This is my first mushroom so i have NO CLUE if i was taken on the price (which i was told i was* but im happy with it so O-well ) or how to attach correctly without damaging the animal...

a lil help here ;)

florida ricordea.

Definatley worth the money. You bought it from Erics tank.

Yes they cost more to buy them attached to rock, everything the man says or does is true.;)

If he says to glue go ahead as Im sure hes done it a thousand times.

otherwise those rics were hella nice. My friend Ev bought like 6-7 of em.

yea i was happy with the price...i really like the mushroom...very good color... but i was told otherwise, being a newb @ mushrooms...i just wasn't sure... ok...well... here i am... i CAREFULLY removed the small peices of rock from the bottom of the mushroom and placed him on a rock that i was him on....will he take hold by himself or should i use super glue sam?

What I did with mine was remove the crushed coral from under them and I sat them in the sand bed on some bigger pieces of LR rubble. They should hopefully attach over night depending how ur flow is. If not try it in your fuge.

Then you can glue the bigger piece of rubble to your rock work.

Its impossible to be a noob with mushrooms. They can probably thrive in fresh water:lol:

cool deal...i have the mushroom in a nice size FW Betta container with plenty more added holes...enough to allow water exchange but not enough to move him off the rock... are these known to split? what should i feed?

Mine was thriving with MH. Yea they split as well.

Buy some reef-roids. They help out alot so Ive heard. I juts got my Roids in today.

haha....no doubt...thx for the stalk as well... got everything in and hoping for the best...

i was gone from home for a few days in Irvine waiting for RAP and my room mate was watching my tank and incharge of SIMPLE flake feeding....i come home to 1 DEAD baby blue tang and 1 longnose butterfly with serrious ICH :( ... i did a FW dip on the butterfly for about 8 mins. i will do a water check tomorrow, and most likely a medium water change.

he said that he forgot to turn on the lights for 2 days.... might this have stressed the fish?:mad2: i wanted to beat his @$$

Naw. Ive gone a week with no lights. If he forgot to feed for 2 days then thats a different story. Tangs and butterflys have really fast metabolism. If they go without a day of eating they can wake up sometime with a little ich or discoloration IME.

this things r sweet :D :D I got one w/ pink n yellow in the center n orange w/ green center n purple w/ orange center

It may take them a week or more to attach. It is hard to glue them as they slime and the superglue won't stick. Super glue is not toxic. It was developed to close surgical incisions. Thats what they told me when I had a hernia operation and had no stitches or staples, just a little tape.
