Florida rics illegal?

I was told today that harvesting coral from florida waters were illegal. How does every one get them. Would it be illegal to keep? I'm new to all this stuff so just curious. I may have picked up a florida ric marked as just a regular one its hard for me to id but i've been told it could be a steel blue. What does every one know about this topic??

Softies are legal. NOT legal to take any hard corals, rock, and certain gorgonians. Ric's you see on rocks come from further south outside our waters.
