Gresham, my main idea for getting the kordon brethig bags was to try and get some sponges home without killing them. Sadly, the weather prevented us from collecting any except for some on the first day of the trip, and by the time we were ready to leave they were in pretty rough shape.
Do you think the kordon bags would have been a plausable solution if we had some freshly collected specimens and were not fighting the cold weather for shipping?
I ask because I really want to try again in a few months and would love to get some sponges (and tunicates) for my tanks.
After seeing a real reef, its hard to be satisfied keeping a tank without having sponges in it.
Just doesnt look right.
