flourecent for frag tank

has any one or can you use florecent lighting for growing frags

i have a light that runs 9" bulbs the coralife flat 4 pin ones, and im curous to save my self money can one use them as a light

If your talking about Power Compact PC bulbs your pretty much limited to shrooms, zoas and maybe a few low light lps. I ran 65Watt x 2 for a while but 9-13watt ones will grow maybe chaeto.
