Is there a right way to dispose of these?? Or a place locally we can take them? I know alot of people just smash them and put them out with the trash, but I dont think we're supposed to because of the mercury content.

Check with your local Recycle center. I know in Ithaca they take all ours for free. Cornell also takes them for free I believe. They won't take them with your household recycle at the curb but I think if you take them to the recycle facility they will take them.

in the bgm area we are supposed to take them to the landfill, they have a hazardous waste area that is open on certain days. we could probably just have one person take them up there on the day they are open. i know we need to get rid of some also. i would happily take them up there, the next day that is good for me to go is may 17...could you get them here by then?

I have some flourescent bulbs as well I've been saving. Can I impose on you guys to bring them up.? I also have a bunch of halides. Should they be recycled? Aren't we the good citizens.
