Flow and fish question

In my 10.5 gallon I am running between 400 and 500 GPH flow between my sump return and 3 powerheads on a wave strip. I have finally managed to get everything pointed the right way so sand is no longer flying around the tank. My 2 false percs, however are constantly fighting current. Will this be bad for them? Should I take out a couple of PH's? Should I turn them off at night so they can rest?

Most recommend about 30-35x turnover rate if i remember correctly. Your int he 40-50x range. I could be a bit much for the clowns, especially in such a small tank. Youd ont want to wear them out. I would try taking a Ph head out or maybe two and just see how they fish are. You dont want them constantly fighting current it will stress them out.

I would recommend maybe either putting a ball valve on your return, or getting a smaller pump. I say this without knowing your pump size, but im assuming just from the general mistake that you are pumping more than 5-10x through your sump. Get it around 5x for optimal skimmer performance.
