I know its strange to see a Thread titled "Flow & Corals" in the Fish Only forum, but I promise I am looking for your experience.
I have been switching my old Mixed reef to a more FOWLR. My tank is 125 gal 4x2x2
I am looking at a stock list of

- Dog face puffer
- Dwarf Lion
- Pigmy Angel
- Salfin Tang
- A few Chromis
- A few Cardinals
- Blenny
- Sand sifting Goby

I was thinking about keeping some leathers & a couple of cheap Softies, just for aesthetic purposes. {Question Being}

What flow do you guys run in your FO tanks?
Is a Dogface Puffer known to pick at coral?

I know you've probably seen our 100 gal setup (if not LMK) and we're running:

Main return: QO 4-MDQX-SC (1325 gph @ zero head)

Closed Loop: IWAKI MD-40 (750 gph @ 4' head)

Of course, those are "raw" flow rates. The CL should be pretty close to rated, but it's split between 3 returns.

The main return is split via a SCWD, so they alternate, plus some flow is lost thru the chiller.

The tank is plumbed using soft flex tubing with threaded fittings (valves, barbs, etc).

So, there's a pretty decent amount of flow, but the lionfish in the tank doesn't seem to mind.
